Captaincy change under Therrien?

Jacques Martin's first season with the habs was completed without a team captain. The coaching staff was undecided at that time, and felt like the team was able to compete night in and out without a player actually wearing the C on his jersey. Afterwards, Brian Gionta was selected mid september 2010 to be the 28th captain of the franchise. Jacques Martin backed his choice by stating Gionta's qualities on and off the ice: his work ethic, strong character and leadership skills. In Montreal,  fans still argue if Brian was up to the job, and a lot believe he failed in containing the challenge. Habsology forecast a captaincy change under Therrien, and the potential candidates are known by everyone: Gorges,Markov and Cole.  Gionta's latest long injury will be another reason behind him loosing the C. But, in the end of the day it's just a forecast and we'll have to wait till those long summer days are over.

Expensive Jagr to Dallas

Jagr signed a 4.5 Million$/1year deal with Dallas. The ex-flyer was one of the few highly rated UFA wingers out there; which explains the high offer he received from Bob Gainey's new organization.Although his close ties to Plekanec, when asked about him, the new GM facial expression reflected that the canadiens were not top candidates in landing him.
At this price, the habs could not afford him. Life continues in beautiful Montreal.

Bottom six added what's next?

After the addition of forwards Armstrong and Prust, and re-signing Moen,White, Nikolanen the bottom six of the Montreal Canadiens 2012-13 is almost clear. With Blunded signing a 2-way contract, where most of his playing time is predicted to be with the bulldogs, he will be called up in case of injuries among bottom line players.
Whats' next ? GMs around the league forecast a slow movement in the free agents market untill the big fishes are gone (Parise,Sutter). Assuming our 1st-line is Max-DD-Cole, and bottom lines set we need to improve our second line. It's still unknown and unclear how the organization will approach that, the new GM was heard saying he's ready to give a chance to young players like Leblanc and Gallagher, it can be an option. We have to wait and see, it can be a trade, a signing a call up but the second line needs to improve.

Bergevin confirms Price extended for 6 years

The British Colombia native Goalie will celebrate his 25th birthday next month. The contract agreed upon between the habs management and the goalie's agent today has a cap hit of  6.5million $ / year. Carey Price expressed his emotions through a conference call: "it's huge for me , it's honor to come back." he continued "it shows confidence from the organization, now it's my turn to prove them right".

If one look at what Carey Price have completed till now, the contract would look like an over-payment, since the habs drafted goalie have only won 1 series in his young career. But, if one look at what can Carey Price complete in his prime (25-30 years old) it looks like a fair deal. Looking at the goalie market, Quick getting signed for 5.8 M$ but on a 10 years span, Schneider's contract in Vancouver  and Rinne in Nashville inspire us to give this signing a grade of
